Atavism Unity Editor Index

Here is a basic description on the Atavism Unity Editor. Once you have added the Unity Client package to Unity you will see under the Windows Tab Atavism Online menu. Clicking that will open up the Atavism Unity Editor.

The First screen you see in the Editor is the Login and registration screen.

If you have purchased Atavism from the Unity Store you have to click on the Register Button to register your product. You will need your Invoice Number to register it.

If you purchased Atavism from our Store or have already registered you can click the Login button to login to the Atavism editor.

Connecting to your Database

Before you can access and save data to the database the connection settings need to be set up. To set your database connection settings click on the Data Base button at the top of the Plugin List.

As shown in the picture above, details need to be set for both the Content database and the Admin database. Generally these are the same with the exception of the Database Name.

The fields should be set as follows:

  • Database Host: the ip or dns address of the computer that your database is running on. If the database is running on the same computer as Unity, the address will be “localhost”.
  • Database Name: by default use “world_content” for the Content Database and “admin” for the Administrator database. If you have changed the names of these database in MySQL you will need to change the names in here as well.
  • Database User: the name of the user account used to access your MySQL server. This will often be “root” unless you created/specified a new user.
  • Database Password: the password for the account specified above.

After the details have been entered click Test Connection for both to make sure the connection has been set up correctly.

Note: If you are connecting to a remote database you will need to grant access to your computer to be able to connect to the MySQL server. This can be done by logging into MySQL and running the following command:

  • GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES on world_content.* to 'user'@'ip address' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
  • GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES on admin.* to 'user'@'ip address' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';

Replacing 'user', 'ip address' and 'password' with your database username, the ip address of the computer you are running Unity on, and your database password.
